Which Lucky Fan Will Win the Jeff Gordon Driving
Experience?
Press Release by: Wink Bodenhamer
Hudson, North
Carolina (August 22, 2008) - The answer to these
questions will be answered on 8-29-08 at Tri County Speedway.
At the conclusion of the EverythingAttachments.com 150, the
race winner will draw from the adult ticket stubs to announce
the driving experience winner.
Melling
Select Rookies Brandon McReynolds, Darrell Wallace Jr., Corey
LaJoie, Scott Andrews Jr. and Dillon Smith showed their muscle
thrilling the crowd at Franklin County on 8-16-08 by storming
home with top ten finishes. McReynolds and Wallace put
on a whale of a show with veterans Richard Boswell II, Jamey
Caudill and Jamie Yelton in their wake. McReynolds
clinched his first UARA victory.
I
had emailed Larry McReynolds, Brandon’s dad after the event.
He responded via email “I'm still in shock! Just didn't
factor this in, in his rookie season! “. What a
great surprise for a man of Larry McReynolds talent.
Series
point leader Jake Crum was having problems at Franklin County
and finished 16th but managed to maintain his point
lead. Alex Yontz however has managed to close that lead
to a mere seven points. Yontz managed to slip into
second ahead of Jamey Caudill. Yontz sat on the pole,
lead a lap and lead the most laps giving him those coveted
fifteen bonus points. Caudill however is just four
points behind Yontz followed closely by Boswell.
Boswell
is another story. He has been consistently all over the front
of the pack but has failed to gain that first UARA victory.
He came within a fenders length at Ace Speedway. Boswell
shows he has what it takes with two second place finishes and
four third place finishes in the first eleven UARA races.
It is just a matter of time.
Within
the top ten points Roger Lee Newton maintains 6th
followed by B.J. Mackey. Wallace advanced from 8th
to 7th and Yelton from 9th to 8th.
Truex fell back two spots to ninth and McReynolds lands in the
10th spot.
The
heat is on and it is only going to intensify from here on out
in the next five races to the championship. It is any
mans game at this point and with the shuffling around as of
the last few weeks there is no prediction of who can pull it
off.
Several
of the local favorites will be on hand to challenge the STARS.
Two former UARA champions are rumored to be planning on taking
on the challenge: Matt McCall and Lee Tissot. Both
of these drivers have had great success not only with the UARA
but also at Tri County Speedway.
Racing
along with the STARS will be the Street Stock cars running a
special 50 lap feature with an increased purse to add to the
excitement. The night will close out with a 15 lap Road
Rage race.
