Tri-County Motor Speedway

Hudson, North Carolina


Located in Western North Carolina, Tri-County Motor Speedway is a 4/10 mile banked asphalt track racing weekly on Friday night as it has for most of it's existence.  A NASCAR Home Track facility, TCMS features Late Models as it's premier division and has been a proving ground for many of today's rising talents.

The Official Host Hotel of TCMS

Quality Inn in Hickory, North Carolina is the official hotel of Tri-County Motor Speedway. The hotel is next to the Hickory Regional Airport on Highway 321. Hudson, North Carolina (April 11, 2008) - Opening night was one for the history books with Matt McCall passing Kevin Leicht for the lead on lap 2 and never looked back to take the checkers over 18 cars for the Lowes Foods 100. After the race Matt said he was very proud to be able to put a Ford back in victory lane at TCMS and Andy Loden finished second after fighting his way up to the front from starting seventh. Lee Tissot had his hands full fighting his way up to the front after starting sixth.


In the Pepsi Super Stocks a wreck broke out on the back straight before the race began with the two leaders Kevin Townsend and Bryant Wallace. Townsend was able to recover and take the win after fighting Scott Franklin for the win and Jason Franklin rounding out the top 3. In the Limiteds, Dexter Canipe Jr. started dead last on the field and drove his way to the front to win followed by Bill Cassavaugh and Chris Phipps to round out the top 3.


The Baton Tire Street Stocks had an action packed race with 14 cars taking the green flag half way in the race Kevin Eby and Terrance Tucker fought hard for the lead with Terrance taking the lead on lap 17 and never looked back to win over Kevin Eby and Greg Grindstaff. In the Red Baron Race Parts Hobbys was dominated by the 3 of Wayne Harrington to took the win.
