Located in Western North Carolina, Tri-County Motor
Speedway is a 4/10 mile banked asphalt track racing weekly on Friday night
as it has for most of it's existence. A NASCAR Home Track facility,
TCMS features Late Models as it's premier division and has been a proving
ground for many of today's rising talents.

Hudson, North Carolina (April 13, 2007) - Josh Goble
knew his car and crew were just too good not to get it done.
After suffering through what he called bad performances during
the first three races of the season the former Tri-County
Motor Speedway track champion found a little good luck on
Friday the 13 to win the 75 lap late model stock feature
Friday night.
Goble started from the Kelley’s Sports & Awards pole
but fell to second at the start when Donnie Carlton assumed
the top spot for several laps. Goble was able to get around
Carlton to retake the lead and never trailed the rest of the
night.
“I want to thank my dad and everyone on my crew for
working so hard to get us here (victory lane),” said Goble.
“We finally got some things figured out and it all came
together for us. Hopefully this is just the first of many wins
for us this year.”
John Reynolds finished second with Monty Cox and Greg
Shepard followed in third. Rookie driver Alley Owens showed
the men she can get it done as she finished fifth in her first
career start at TCMS. Carlton finished second in the race but
later failed post-race inspection which dropped him to last
place.
Scott Franklin collected a win in the Pepsi Super Stocks
with Kevin Townsend second and Monty Cox third. Steve Parris
returned to the top five after mechanical problems cost him
last time out and Ricky Brown returned to action finishing
fifth after missing a race two weeks ago due to damage he
suffered ina hard crash on the opening night of the season.
Street Stock veteran Kevin Eby was able to get the win with
Jonathan Smith second and Jeremy Pelfrey third. David Smith
and Gary Dietz completed the top five.
Steven Shore won his second consecutive Fast ‘n Furious
race with defending division champion Nikki Long second.
Kenneth Watts finished third with Preston Hall and Scott
Bumgarner completing the top-five.
Doug Setzer won the Mini Stock race with Jeff Banks taking
home top honors in the Tri-County Minis feature.
Next week the UARA-Stars return to TCMS with a 150-lap
special event race. The Street Stock and Baton Tire Fast ’n
Furious divisions will be in action as well. The UARA-Stars
feature over 40 of the best late model stock drivers from the
southeast who will compete for just 28 starting spots at the
beautiful .400-mile speedway.
