Ford Focus Midgets
Return to TCMS
By Pat Simmons
Hudson, NC (July 26, 2005) - The Ford Focus Midgets
return to Tri-County Motor Speedway this Friday night, along
with racing in the regular weekly divisions.
The Late Model Stocks have had a competitive field of cars
each week and the fans are sure to not be disappointed as
points battles begin to shape up.
Currently, Josh Goble leads Jimmy Doyle by 25 points.
In the Pepsi Super Stock Challenge, Marshall Sutton holds a
slim 12 point lead over Monty Cox, while Scott Franklin rides
third, 32 points away from Sutton.
In the Hudson Superette Street Stocks Kevin Eby holds a 36-
point lead over Josh Burchette.
Burchette has had a couple of weeks of finishing back
in the field while Eby has been consistent.
The title in the Street Stocks is still up for grabs
and anything can happen.
Doug Setzer holds a 26-point advantage over Hank Hefner,
while Arnold Propst follows in third 28 points down from
Hefner.
David Hasson leads Jeff Poston in the Fast and Furious by a
mere 16-point margin.
Jeff Banks has dominating lead in the Tri-County Minis, but
a couple of not-so-great nights for Banks could tighten up
that battle.
The USAC Ford Focus Midgets will return for a 30-lap
feature event. The
light open-wheel racers set a blistering pace around the 4/10th
mile TCMS oval.
Pit gates will open at 2:00p.m. for the Ford Focus
competitors and their practice will begin at 3:00p.m. Pit
Gates for regular competitors open at 4:00p.m. Trackside
parking gates will open at 5 p.m. Friday, while the main
grandstand opens at 6:00p.m. and practice for the regular
weekly divisions starts at 6:00p.m.
Qualifying is at 7 and racing begins promptly at 8:00.
