CarsPlus Fireworks/Kids Night
By Pat Simmons
Hudson, NC (June 29, 2005) - This Friday Night, July
1st, CarsPlus of Lenoir and Tri-County Motor
Speedway will present Kids Night with a gigantic fireworks
display after the on track fireworks are over.
The Late Models will have a 75-lap action packed event and
with the points battle shaping up, it should be a barnburner.
Jason Grant has yet to make his first trip to victory
lane, but sits in the lead by seven points over Josh Goble.
In the 30-lap Super Stock feature Marshall Sutton is
leading Monty Cox in points by four points and the chase for
the championship is in full swing.
Scott Franklin’s win gave him a boost, which puts him
within striking distance in third.
Josh Burchette has been on a roll and gaining momentum on
points leader Kevin Eby in the Street Stocks.
The two are neck and neck with only five points
separating them. That division has several drivers hungry for
a win.
Doug Setzer and Hank Hefner are at the top in the Mini
Stock point standings, while consistant finishes have put
Arnold Propst well within range of catching them.
David Hasson has a 20-point margin over Jeff Poston.
Poston lost ground last week with mechanical problems,
but is sure to be back and on a mission to gain some ground.
In the Tri-County Minis, Ryan Carson leads Drew Bagwell,
while Jeff Banks has captured a few wins and is lurking in
third 30 points behind the leader.
After the racing action is over a gigantic fireworks
display is on tap, which will be sure to thrill the young and
old alike. Children
12 and under will be admitted free and there will be drawings
for the kids.
Adults will be $12 and seniors $7 at
the gate. Trackside
parking opens at 5 and the grandstands at 6.
Practice also begins at 6 with qualifying at 7 and
racing at 8. Make
plans to start your holiday weekend off with a bang!
