Jacky Works for Win at Tri-County
Hudson, NC (June 24, 2005) - Jacky Workman has been
racing for years at Tri-County Motor Speedway, but Friday
night he broke a long streak without a victory by taking the
checkered flag in the 50-lap Late Model Stock feature.
Then win wasn’t easy, as he had to hold off strong
charges by Lee Tissot, who was trying to make it two in a row.
Workman
and Nick Waycaster started on the front row and Waycaster was
credited for leading the first lap, but Workman had a
different plan and was able to lead the rest of the event.
Waycaster rode in second for over half of the event, but
Tissot moved up and challenged Workman for the rest of the
night. John Reynolds, Jr. followed Tissot
and was earned third and appeared to find the handle on his
racer he has been looking for.
Jason Grant was fourth, Jimmy Doyle fifth,
Jackie Buckner sixth and Bruce Greene was seventh.
Toby Hopkins was eighth, Kenny Campbell ninth and Bobby
Decola tenth.
Monty
Cox was back in rare form and picked up another Pepsi Super
Stock Challenge win. Cox and Scott Franklin
both started in the rear of the field and Franklin would
finish second, with Marshall Sutton third, Ricky Brown fourth
and Kaleb Pressley fifth.
Josh Burchette picked up another win in the Hudson
Superette Street Stocks after starting seventh on the field.
Jesse LeFevers grabbed the lead early, but was unable
to hold off Burchette, who took the lead on lap eight.
LeFevers would earn second after a photo finish with Kevin Eby.
The pair came across the line in almost a dead heat.
George Anen, Jr. was fourth and Bill Lett fifth.
A.J. Sanders claimed the trophy in the Mini Stock feature
with Hank Hefner second, Randy Canipe third, Doug Setzer
fourth and Mike Wells was fifth.
Jeff
Wagoner picked up his first Fast & Furious win after Brad
Ballard refused post race inspection and was disqualified.
Brandon Houck was second, Chad Miller third, Brandon
Ballard fourth and David Hasson was fifth.
Jeff Banks picked up another trophy to add to his
collection in the Tri-County Minis with Scott Hunter second,
Drew Bagwell third, Ryan Carson fourth and Greg Parsons fifth.
In the Road Rage William McAlister was able to complete
three laps, while all the others were beating and banging away
at each other. McAlister picked up the win
and the “winner takes all” prize.
Next Friday night TCMS will host CarsPlus Night with 75
laps for the Late Models and a spectacular fireworks show on
and off the track. TCMS has always been
known for a great fireworks show and children will be admitted
free of charge on this special Fourth of July celebration
night. CarsPlus has been a long-time
supporter of the speedway invites everyone to come out and
enjoy the festivities.
