BASCIANI MUSHROOM FARMS to Sponsor ALLISON LEGACY 200
LAPPER
Salisbury,
NC (October 13, 2004) - Basciani Mushroom Farms has
joined the Allison Legacy Racing Series to sponsor the 200 lap
season finale at Tri-County Motor Speedway in Hudson, North
Carolina on Saturday, November 13th. Like the Allison's, the
Basciani's are about family. They are fourth generation
mushroom farmers located in the Kennett Square area of eastern
Pennsylvania. Basciani grows, packs, and ships over a million
pounds per week of every marketable variety of
mushrooms-Portabella, Crimini, Shiitake, Oyster, Maitake,
exotics, and of course the white button mushroom.
Michael Basciani says: "There's nothing better than
Portabellas & Barbeque Sauce Sandwiches on the grill at
the race!" "Harvesting, packing & shipping
over a million pounds of mushrooms a week the same day they
were picked is a race every day." Basciani Mushroom
Farms race their refrigerated trucks to bring the freshest
mushrooms available to the most discerning chefs and
supermarkets across the USA.
The race winner of The Basciani Mushroom Farms 200 will
receive $1000 plus other awards. This race is sure to be
one of the most competitive of the season as seventeen year
old Derek Lee from Clinton, North Carolina, battles with Mike
Hampton, Scott Lail, Trevor Bayne, and Michael Cooper for the
Points Championship. There are only 278 points separating
first and fifth place. A full field of cars is expected to
enter this event from at least twelve different states.
The Allison Legacy Series is a Touring Series and also has
eight regions across the country racing at thirty five
different tracks. The cars are spec and look like a down sized
3/4 scale Nextel Cup car.
Several TCMS divisions will also highlight the weekend.
Activities get under way Friday afternoon with practice for
all divisions. Racing begins Saturday at 3 PM.
Basciani Mushroom Farms is also sponsoring the
"Portabella Pole Position " Award at the
Allison Legacy Touring Series Race at Myrtle Beach Speedway in
conjunction with the Hooter's Pro-Cup Race on Saturday,
October 23, 2004.
