Tri-County Motor Speedway Announces Increase in 2004
Points Fund
Hudson, North Carolina (March 9, 2004) - Tri-County
Motor Speedway General Manager Jimmy Wilson has announced an
increase in the 2004 points fund for the USAR Weekly Racing
Series. The total posted post-season awards will total over
$20,000, an increase from $15,000 last year.
The Tucson Late Model division will pay $2,000 to the 2004
champion, $1,250 to the Super Sport champion and $1,000 to the
Street Stock and Mini Stock champions. The new Fast &
Furious Division will award a trophy and $100 bonus to the
driver who wins the most races in the division.
"We decided to increase the amount of race events in
2004 and we felt the USAR Weekly Racing Series should increase
the points fund in addition to the number of races", said
Wilson. "In addition to the overall increase in the
points fund, we decided to pay the top-15 in our four
divisions as well which is an increase from the top-10 from
last season."
Tri-County Motor Speedway is a 4/10-mile paved oval located
in Caldwell County, North Carolina and is preparing to begin
its third season operating as the charter member of the USAR
Weekly Racing Series. USAR is the sanctioning body of the
